The Xiaomi Pad 6 series, which has been on the market for over six months, has already attracted the attention of leakers who claim to possess information about its successor models. It’s important to note that Xiaomi released the Pad 6 globally in July, priced at approximately US$364 on Amazon, and the Pad 6 Max followed a month later in Xiaomi’s home market. However, neither the Pad 6 Max nor the Pad 6 Pro has been officially available outside China.
Despite this, well-known leaker Digital Chat Station recently shared details on Weibo that many, including MySmartPrice, believe to be related to the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro. It’s important to emphasize that the leaker didn’t explicitly mention the tablet’s name, leaving room for the possibility that Digital Chat Station might be referring to an upcoming tablet from a different Android OEM.
If MySmartPrice’s speculations hold true, the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro is rumored to be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, although it’s worth noting that Qualcomm has since introduced the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Approximately a year ago, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 was introduced as a replacement for the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, which currently powers the Pad 6 Pro. Allegedly, the Pad 7 Pro is expected to feature a 144 Hz LCD panel, suggesting that Xiaomi may carry over the display from its predecessor. Furthermore, the Pad 7 Pro is anticipated to showcase a square-shaped camera housing, possibly inspired by the designs seen in the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro. Xiaomi is currently anticipated to launch the Pad 7 series in early 2024.
